Earlier this year, the American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland uncovered that the Maryland State Police had engaged in prolonged spying in 2005 and 2006 on groups that oppose the death penalty.Once you're in a database -- is there any way out? Following a recommendation by a state report reviewing the spying, state police sent letters last month to 53 activists who had been wrongly labeled as terrorists in a state database.
